ML received her Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Manitoba in 2010. She furthered her photographic studies by gaining a diploma through Prairie View School of Photography in 2016. While she continues her love of painting, printmaking, sculpture and poetry, her fascination with analogue photographic techniques, including alternative processes, provides endless possibilities for her creativity.

ML moved to Parksville, BC from Winnipeg in 2016. The opportunity to live on Vancouver Island has given her life a beautiful richness, being immersed in our natural world, living next to Rathtrevor Provincial Park. The Salish Sea and the big trees fill her everyday with inspiration.

Artistic movements such as the Dadaist/Surrealist style, exploring the spontaneous and ‘accidental’ relationships in art are of interest to ML. Other themes that appear often in her work are tension of opposites, such as darkness and light, masculine and feminine, our interior world with the exterior.
